Biography
Born in 1984, Charles’s love affair with football began at the tender age of 6. England reached the semi finals of the World Cup and Gazza showed men everywhere that it was ok to cry.
Like most of the kids at school, the first club that gained Charles’ allegiance was Manchester United. While he never wore a United shirt, he was presented with a Man United cake for his 10th birthday.
Having pestered for many years to be taken to watch a live football match, his Dad finally gave in and took him to see the Cobblers. The first game he remembers was the 5-1 thrashing of Chester City at Sixfields in January 1997. After several more games the pair were hooked.
Charles became a season ticket holder for the first time in 1998/99 and held one until he moved to Warrington for university in 2003. His Dad is still a season ticket holder to this day.
Being exiled from Northamptonshire hasn’t stopped Charles attending games. He goes to every away game in the North West and goes to as many home games as possible.
His favourite Cobblers player of all time is Martin Smith.
Charles is the founder and main presenter of the award-winning It’s All Cobblers To Me podcast.
He began the podcast after going self-employed in 2018 as a podcast producer and voiceover artist. The original thought being that It’s All Cobblers To Me would be a place to try out new things – like a test podcast of sorts.
As well as being Cobblers mad, Charles is also a ultramarathon runner and has a blog about that that he tries to keep up to date as often as he can.
