Disappointment, Delusions and Dimensions
After the 0-0 draw at home to Rochdale I felt so disappointed.
I was sure that we would win that game and for the first 20 minutes or so I was certain. The longer the game went on though, the less sure I became.
I don’t think it was just me either. The players’ belief seemed to evaporate the more the minutes ticked by. Rochdale grew into the game and began to easily stop us playing.
At full time I went through a whole host of emotions. I was angry, disappointed, upset, angry, exasperated, resigned, angry. Did I mention angry?
The inquest started almost immediately for me as I went out for a run and spent the whole 10K spitting my thoughts and opinions out in the direction of my running partner in crime, a Newcastle fan called Bryan.
I was midway through my latest rant about how Jon Brady should realise that making a substitution on the 82nd minute doesn’t give the player coming on any chance to get into the game and a point at this stage of the season isn’t good enough, when I had an epiphany.
Is our pitch too narrow to play the way Brady wants us to?
Listen to The Preview Show to hear my thoughts on this in full.
